Is This Update Required?

Yes, we recommend keeping your WordPress Theme up to date to take advantage of the latest features.

Will I Loose Customisations Made To The Theme?

You shouldn't loose any custimizations as the WordPress Theme is customized via the WordPress Admin panel which modifies the WordPress database. This update will replace your theme files which should not have been modified.

How To Update

You will need to follow every step below to update your WordPress Theme.

1. Upload & Replace The WordPress Theme Files

Want to save time? You can hire us to update your theme.

The first step is to upload the latest WordPress Theme files to replace the existing.

Steps To Upload

1. Make a full backup of your WordPress files & database for safety

2. Download the latest WordPress Theme files >> Download Guide

3. Extract the ZIP file to your desktop

4. Open the upload directory:

/upload/

5. Upload the contents of this directory using an FTP client to:

/wordpress_path/

This will override the theme files with the latest version.

Ensure that your FTP client does not replace directories and instead adds/overrides the new files within the existing directory. We recommend FileZilla which is free and will work correctly out of the box.

If you have made customisations to any files contained in the ZIP we recommend comparing your version and the updated version so you can re-apply your customisations manually. Generally the files should not have been modified as customizations are made via the WordPress admin panel. If you are utilizing the custom.css file this will not be lost during the update.

2. Visit Wizard Panel

The final step is to visit Wizard Panel under:

WordPress Admin > Wizard Panel

Wizard Panel will compare the new version with the old and run the update script. You may or may not see a update notice appear depending on the version.

3. Update Completed

You have now finished updating your WordPress Theme to the latest version. If you see any miss alignment when viewing your WordPress front-end you may need to clear your browser cache to force the updated files to be rendered. If you are using any caching WordPress plugins these should also be cleared. If you run into any issues, submit a ticket and we will be happy to assist you.
